Have you ever wondered what it must be like to film a movie sex scene? First of all you're in the buff, naked as the day you were born, in front of a veritable marketplace of cameramen, gaffers, runners, extras and people who have simply strolled onto the set. Then there's the scene itself, the fumbling and the - hopefully choreographed - groping, along with inevitable questions for the man: what happens if you become… aroused? Surely that's bad, but then what if your co-star takes offence if you don't? The whole situation is one big minefield and something almost all actors find a little awkward the first few times. So, when the clothes are off and the cameras are rolling, what you really need is someone like Helena Bonham Carter to come along and put you at ease in her own inimitable way.

At least that's what happened to A Beautiful Mind and A Knight's Tale star Paul Bettany while filming his latest project, Heart of Me . Stripped and psyched for one of his steamier scenes with the actress, Bettany was subsequently introduced to Bonham Carter's bodily functions when the actress decided to stridently break wind during the intimate moment.

"She farted on me and announced the fact to the cast and crew," he told IMDB. "And of course I was the one who ended up feeling embarrassed."

But Bettany doesn't seem too put out by the incident and has in no way been put off the actress who he describes as "barking mad, keen as mustard and funny as fuck."
